Living wills, power of attorney and where to turn for legal help will be discussed
HARRISBURG – Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie) is teaming up with Northwestern Legal Services to offer two upcoming seminars for senior citizens and their families.

The program will focus on the importance of having a living will, what a power of attorney is, having a durable power of attorney, and where to turn for legal assistance.

“A great many seniors do not know legally what they need to do in order to protect their assets or to make sure a specific person is able to make legal and medical decisions on their behalf if they become unable to do so,” said Sonney. “The folks at Northwestern Legal Services can help answer these questions and more. I encourage seniors and their families to attend one of these upcoming seminars to expand their knowledge on these important issues.”

Both seminars will be held from 10 a.m. to noon as follows:

• Tuesday, Aug. 1, Corry Senior Center, 25 South 1st Ave., Corry.
• Tuesday, Aug. 8, North East Senior Center, 50 East Main St., North East.

For more information about the seminars, call Sonney’s district office at (814) 897-2080.
