Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Applications Now Available, Says Sonney

HARRISBURG – Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Harborcreek) is encouraging fire companies and volunteer ambulance services in his district to submit an application for the 2013-14 Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program. The application period will remain open until Oct. 24.

The grants may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction. The program was created by the General Assembly as Act 10 of 2007.  The program is funded through state gaming proceeds.

Sonney represents the 4th Legislative District, which consists of the City of Corry; the townships of Amity, Concord, Greene, Greenfield, Harborcreek, LeBoeuf, North East, Union, Venango, and Wayne; and the boroughs of Elgin, Mill Village, North East, Union City, Wattsburg and Wesleyville.
