Sonney to Discuss Harborcreek Rail Terminal Project
HARBORCREEK – State Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Harborcreek) is inviting area residents to a town hall meeting to discuss the proposed intermodal rail terminal in Harborcreek Township. The meeting will be held Thursday, March 6, from 6-8 p.m., in the auditorium of Harbor Creek Senior High School, located at 6375 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek.

“A great deal of speculation surrounds this proposed terminal,” Sonney stated. “I would like to offer residents a chance to ask questions, as well as provide the latest information I’ve been able to obtain from the parties involved in the project.”

Sonney will be joined at the meeting by Harborcreek Township supervisors Dean Pepicello, Joseph Peck and Timothy May, who will offer an update on the project.

“This is a project that would impact our local neighborhoods,” added Sonney. “It’s important for our residents to come together and voice their concerns and discuss alternate ideas concerning this proposed development.”

The new facility, which is part of the Erie Inland Port Project, would be built near Walbridge Road and Route 20 on property already owned by the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation.

Questions about this or any legislative issue may be directed to Sonney’s Corry office at (814) 664-9126 or his Harborcreek office at (814) 897-2080.
