Sonney to Host Concealed Carry Seminar
CORRY – As the result of good turnout for a similar event held last April, state Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Harborcreek) is hosting a second concealed carry permit seminar on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Union City Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall, 50 2nd Avenue, Union City.

“My staff and I were really pleased with the number of people (approximately 250) who attended our event earlier this year,” said Sonney. “We were asked if we planned on having another seminar and are following through on those requests by holding one in the southern portion of the 4th Legislative District.”

Guest speakers for the seminar will again include attorney Tim George, Erie County Sheriff John Loomis and Lt. Kirk R. Reese from Pennsylvania State Police Troop E.

“This is a great opportunity for both existing concealed carry permit holders and anyone who is considering applying for a permit,” Sonney added. “It is a chance to learn what your rights are, as well as understand your responsibility when interacting with local law enforcement.

“There are a lot of misconceptions about Pennsylvania’s concealed carry laws, and the purpose of this seminar is to present people with the facts.”

Due to seating limitations, Sonney is asking anyone interested in attending the seminar to sign up through his website,, or by calling his Corry office at (814) 664-9126.
