Sonney Reaches Out to Erie County Veterans
HARBORCREEK – State Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Harborcreek) invites veterans from throughout Erie County to take advantage of an outreach service being offered each month in his district offices.

“There are approximately 23,000 veterans in Erie County, according to local officials,” Sonney said. “We’re offering a monthly program, designed to assist the men and women who have served or are serving our country with individual issues they may have.”

On the first Thursday of every month (including this Thursday, Feb, 4), Shelly Messina from the Pennsylvania VFW will be in Sonney’s Harborcreek office, located at 4457 Buffalo Road in Erie, from 9 a.m. to noon. She visits the Corry office, 434 North Center St., the third Thursday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

“Veterans will also have an opportunity to discuss specific questions or concerns, as well as check out programs that may be available to them,” added Sonney.

Anyone wishing to make an appointment should contact Sonney’s Corry office at (814) 664-9126 or his Harborcreek office at (814) 897-2080.

Sonney also reminds residents of North East and Union City that satellite office hours are held in each of those communities.

“Every Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., members of my staff will be in the North East Township Building, 10300 West Main Road, and Northwest Savings Bank, 22 North Main St., Union City,” said Sonney. “They are available to help fill out forms for programs such as the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, as well as answer any legislative questions.”
